Eligibility
Juniors and seniors who meet the National Honor Society pillars-scholarship, service, leadership and character- are eligible for induction. To be considered, students must accept the invitation for induction by completing the application which includes an essay and two teacher recommendations. Deadlines for submission are strictly enforced.

Pillars of Membership
Scholarship
Students must first meet this criterion to become candidates for membership. The minimum scholarship requirement is a 3.7 unweighted grade point average. Students who meet this criteria will be given an invitation to apply for membership.
Service
This involves voluntary contributions made by a student and done without compensation. Evidence of service to either the school, the community or both must be detailed in the application for membership.
Leadership
Student leaders are those who are resourceful, good problem solvers, and idea contributors. Leadership experiences can be drawn from school or community activities while working with or for others. Evidence of leadership from within school or the community or both.must be detailed in the application for membership.
Character
The student of good character is cooperative; demonstrates high standards of honesty and reliability; shows courtesy, concern, and respect for others. Student’s disciplinary records and teacher recommendations will be used when evaluating this criterion.

Continued Eligibility for Membership
  • Maintain 3.7 or higher unweighted GPA
  • Participate in 1 school service project and 1 community service project each
    semester
  • Exemplify the characteristics of scholarship, service, leadership, and character
  • Attention all scheduled NHS meetings
  • Adhere to rules and regulations of the NHS bylaws.
